Wedding Challenge 1-4

1. how it all began: how you met, first date, first kiss, how long did you date? first picture together.....etc.

We met on a dating site Feb. 2009, started chatting and he came to see me the end of March 2009, and we started dating. We were engaged by August 2009, married by Oct. 2009.

First Date Weekend 3/28/2009
2. when you knew he was the one: self explanatory.. but how and when did you know?

A few weeks in. He asked me to move to Hawaii with him, and I told him only if we were married, and we both just kind of knew.

3. proposal: how it happened, how long were you engaged for? was it a total surprise? pictures of that... etc.

It happened in the store, it wasn’t a surprise…we were engaged about 2 months.

4. the ring: tell us about it! did you pick it out? did he? pictures! tell us about his ring too!

I picked out the ring, he helped. It’s got a bigger stone, with two smaller ones on each side, and 4 inset diamonds on each side. The wedding band has 9 inset stones. They’re both white gold. His ring is tungstan and very plain, it suits him well.

Care Packages & Bin Laden

So I took 5 boxes to the post office for the LT Saturday. It was the first care package I’ve sent him. We’re already into the 2nd month of the deployment, and he had things he needed. A whole list of things, and it took 5 flat rate boxes to send everything, and I even kept some things behind for other care packages. I should have taken pictures of my back seat. I not only had 4 boxes for the LT, but 1 box for my very best friend, and another box for my friend’s husband. Then when I was inside the post office I made 2 more boxes, 1 for the LT and another for another friend (that was more of an envelope though.)
Most of ya’ll know about Usama Bin Laden and that he was killed, which is good. One less bad guy. What people don’t seem to understand is that just because Bin Laden is gone, doesn’t mean the war is over. And the guys aren’t coming home early. People and their ignorance just kills me. Like why would they come home early just because 1 of the bad guys was dead? They didn’t come home when Saddam Hussein was captured and then killed, so how would this be any different. Bin Laden and Hussein were just part of the problem over there. So pulling troops out now, would be a mistake, in my uneducated opinion. I’m not scholar or political figure, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but that guys over there now are still in danger, and they still have a mission to accomplish.
Anyways, not much going on here on the home front. I’ve just been super busy. We found out his tentative R&R dates, but of course I can’t say. We are looking forward to the time together, and are planning to take a little time and go to another island. I can’t wait to hug and kiss him. I miss him so much!

Wordful Wednesday!

So the LT has been gone for going on 3 weeks, I know, I should have posted sooner, but I've been trying to get in my own groove and swing of things without him. This is much different than the 3 other times he's been gone, where he was gone for no more than a month each time. Which in a way I love, because I had just gotten use to it being just me, and then he came back. Which was great, but at the same time, I had just gotten use to doing things on my own, and he'd come home, and do them for me. Which if anyone knows me, knows that I will gladly let other's do things for me, than do them myself. So I think the next 12 months are going to be good for me. I'll have to do things on my own, and there won't be anyone here to do it for me.

Day he left...we were TIRED
I started paying all the bills myself, the LT had been taking care of it. And I kind of messed up, but thankfully USAA is AMAZING and fixed my mistake! (I paid a bill twice, because I forgot it comes out automatically) I'm really glad the LT got the special Power of Attorney (PoA) for USAA because I needed it to get the payment reversed. I've also had to use the General PoA to get his cell phone turned off. I think we will be saving a lot of money on our cell bill now that we're down to 1 cell phone, and I cut my minutes down A LOT!

I've been pretty busy, my neighbor has been a godsend, and I've spent many a night with her. We have started walking her dog every night, I'm really trying to lose weight. So far, I've lost 3 lbs. We'll see how I do, I'm trying to lose 50lbs. That might sound like a lot, but it's needed. I've also watched the neighbor's dog, Junebug, a few times. She's a boxer, and she's amazing! I think I might get one, or wait til we get on the mainland to get one. They're is a place in Nashville that breads them, and from what my neighbor says, they're the best! I've also started the Nanny job, part time for now. The grandmother is watching her for now, and so I will start in like June. But for now it's just as needed. She's a cute little girl.

Anyways, here are some pictures I took of the sky, rainbows, and of course Junebug!!

Junebug, caught her at the right time, both ears are standing up,
one of them won't stand up anymore :(
