Tsunami Warning

So for those of you who might be living under a rock or something, there was a Earthquake in Chile last night, and as a result there is a Tsunami Warning for Hawaii.

Steven's best buddy and best man at our wedding, Josh, got in yesterday afternoon. What a way to start his vacation here! We had BIG plans for today. And the beach was one of those things we were going to go to! HA!

We're just waiting it out at home. We live in Wahiawa, which is near Schofield Barracks and Wheeler Army Airfield on the island of Ohau. Which is quite a ways off from the water. I'm trusting my husband knows how to read the evacuation maps in the phonebook and that we are not in danger. I may want to rethink this later, we will see!

To give you  a better understanding of where we are, I've found this picture, and I am going to show you where we are and where the Tsunami is going to hit and when!

We do not live on a coastline, so we should be pretty good! We are praying that nothing bad happens. Steven said that if something bad happens he might be mobilized and needed to help.

Please pray that everyone is safe and sound and especially for the people of Chile in the wake of the Earthquake! Thank you so much to our friends and family who have expressed their prayers and concerns. If you would also pray for them so they have a calm about everything and that they will know we are ok if we are unable to contact them after the fact. Thanks again!

Wordless Wednesday, with some explaination...

Amazing!

Guest bedroom - patienly awaiting Josh's arrival on Feb. 26th!!

http://www.cutestickers.com/ - although it took them way to long to send to Hawaii, the post office sent them back and then they send them again, and I got them. I ordered them around Christmas, they came last week. But they have great prices and cute kid stickers too - I bookmarked it for when we have kids!

http://www.snappy-turtle.com/ - they have lots of stuff, but they were very fast in shipping it to me, and good prices!! I ordered them at the same time as the other ones, and they came very fast!!

Thankful Thursday

I'm home alone, have been all day, Steven had a class today and then has something to do tonight. He came home for all of 15 min. between. So needless to say I'm bored! I don't want to venture out by myself and it is kind of nasty out. Nothing compared to what all my family and friends are dealing with, but it is just rainy and gloomy, yuck. And in the midst of all the boredom and gloominess, I figured, why not just list things I'm thankful for, and since it's Thursday, I thought it was cute. Bahaha!

I'm Thankful For:
  • My husband first and formost!!!
  • A roof over our heads and food on our table!
  • Our family, who have stuck by us through soo much, at least on my side they've been there through a lot! And both our families have been very supportive through our move and what not! Thank you!
  • Friends, new and old. Especially the good friends, the ones who have stuck beside me through EVERYTHING!!!
  • My husbands job, without which we wouldn't be able to live in this beautiful place, and I love not knowing where it will take us! It is such an adventure, and it is very humbling for me, because I do NOT like the unknown!
  • I guess this should have been up a little higher, but I'm so glad to be God's beloved!!! I'm so thankful for his salvation! And I know this sounds so cheesy, but it's true.
I'm sure there is more, but I figure I can steam over them and re-do this on another Thursday!

Wordless Wednesday - and no we did not match on purpose

Chicken Divan

My grandmother who recently passed away would make this awesome dish. It's super easy to put together. Kind of time consuming, but really yummy!

My husband does not like mayo, but when I made it the first time I told him there wasn't any in it. He had no idea. Until he went rooting around the fridge and found it. But I made it again last night using the same stuff, and he didn't complain!

What you need:
4 Chicken Breasts, boneless & skinless
2 cans of Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Cup Mayo
1 Cup Sour Cream
1 teaspoon of Curry Powder (I put a little more)
1 Cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
2 12 oz packs Frozen Cut Broccoli (I found a bag in the freezer section, one of those steamers by Green Giant I think, I only got one, but 2 would be best, it's cut in small pieces, the last time I made it I used bigger pieces, we liked the smaller ones best)
1 pack of Ritz Crackers, I use the hint of salt ones

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse the chicken and boil it in water. Cook the broccoli per directions on package(or to just thaw it) and then put it in a 11x7 casserole dish. In a separate bowl mix the soup, mayo, sour cream, cheese and curry powder. When the chicken is done cooking cut in bite size pieces and stir in the soup mixture. Once it is mixed well, place on top of the broccoli and spread it out. Crumble the Ritz Crackers and place on top of the chicken and soup mixture. Place in oven for 30-45 min.

I serve it with white rice.
